The first time a Harvard Business Review landed on my desk I thought...are you crazy? I thought it was going to be a bunch of pretentious articles using jargon and language I didn't understand. Then I started to flip through and now years later continue to rely on this resource.

Patterson, K., Grenny, J., McMillan, R., & Switzler, A. (2002). Crucial Conversations: Tools for talking when stakes are high. United States of America: McGraw-Hill.

Stone, D., Patton, B., & Heen, S. (1999). Difficult Conversations: How to Discuss What Matters Most. United States of America: Viking Penguin.

Emotional Intelligence has played a large role in my development over the past several years. There are several books on the topic but the one I found most impactful was the one introduced to me while taking the Emotional Intelligence course at Mount Royal University. It breaks down each of the skills and examples into short, digestable pieces. The skills under each of the four areas can also be found in list format in the presentation attached in the additional learnings section.

Bradberry, T., & Greaves, J. (2009). Emotional Intelligence 2.0. United States of America: TalentSmart.
